Experienced Leadership.
Local Roots.

Bison Title was built on relationships, not just transactions. It was founded by people who live and work here, and who care deeply about the communities they serve.

The company is led by co-owners Erik Barnard, Clay Guest, and Patrick Wilson. Each shares the same belief that real estate transactions should be handled with discipline, transparency, and personal accountability.

Their combined experience spans residential, commercial, and investment transactions across Texas. What sets Bison Title apart is not just technical knowledge, but the steady leadership and community foundation behind the company.

Erik Barnard

Erik’s family has called Ellis County home for five generations. He has decades of experience in the title business. In fact, it is the only work he has ever known. After working alongside his father for decades, he decided to strike out on his own and build Bison Title.
Erik is known for his steady demeanor and organized, client-focused approach. He understands that buying or selling property is often one of life’s most significant decisions, and he works to ensure clients feel informed and confident throughout the process. Realtors, lenders, builders, and investors appreciate his responsiveness and his ability to keep transactions moving forward without unnecessary friction.
Erik and his family are well known in the community for their civic and charitable involvement, and they are strong supporters of the Waxahachie school district. When he is not working, Erik enjoys golfing and traveling with his family.

Clay Guest

Clay’s connection to North Texas runs deep. A graduate of Midlothian High School, after completing his undergraduate degree from Texas Tech University he returned home to serve the community that helped shape him. After earning his MBA at Dallas Baptist University, Clay set out to build a title operation grounded in service and reliability.
For Clay, title work is personal. Every transaction represents a family, a business, or a future investment in the community he calls home.
Through his leadership at Southwestern Land & Title and now at Bison Title, Clay is widely known for his friendly, accessible style and commitment to timely, well-organized closings. His philosophy, “service before self,” extends beyond business. Clay and his wife, Holly, a local elementary school teacher, actively support local schools, civic organizations, and charitable initiatives throughout the area.

Patrick Wilson

Patrick’s family has called Ellis County home for six generations. Today, his family still farms in the community of Avalon.

After a long career in public service, including ten years as the elected Ellis County District Attorney, Patrick began a second career in the private sector. He brings significant leadership and legal experience to Bison Title.

Patrick and his family have long been active in the local community, their church, and in local schools. When he is not working, you can probably find him traveling with his family, working in his yard, or sharing a good beer with friends.
